Where did the Traveler(MC) come from?

It all started out(based on the current story) when Aether and Lumine were going to leave Teyvat after witnessing the destruction of Khaenri'ah, when suddenly an Unknown God blocked their way. A fight ensued and resulted in one of the twins getting consumed by red cubes from the Unknown God. Next, it appears that the other twin was stranded in Teyvat. After spending numerous months stranded in Teyvat, the Traveler fished out Paimon from a lake. Paimon suggests they get in contact with The Seven, in order to help the Traveler look for their lost sibling.
